DEN (Designing Environments Neurodivergently) St Johns College, Brighton
Den making formed the heart of this project, the perfect individual environment for immersive engagement and learning. Neurodivergent young people aged 19-25 at St Johns College, Brighton worked alongside PANDA and Drama teacher Jo Horsley, building den spaces. St Johns College was an amazing venue for our first project, so supportive and enthusiastic, helping to transform the drama studio into a kaleidoscope of multiple and ever changing structures. The project was also an opportunity to scope the PP (Participatory Play) Framework, a new evaluative measure of levels of participation, developed by Drama and Psychology researchers at the Universities of Kent and Surrey in the Playing A/part project (https://playingapartautisticgirls.org/).
